Alba Careta: trumpeter, vocalist, and jazz composer

Alba Careta Arnaus (Avinyó, 1995) is a jazz trumpeter and vocalist, and one of the most distinctive voices of her generation. Educated between Barcelona, The Hague and Amsterdam—where she earned her Master’s degree in Jazz Trumpet at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam—she has developed a personal language that moves between contemporary improvisation and Catalan roots.

With five albums as a bandleader—Orígens (2018), Alades (2020), Teia (2023), Udolç (2023) and Panical (2026)—her work blends original compositions with traditional influences, shaping a unique sonic identity. She has performed at renowned venues and festivals such as Jazzahead (Bremen), Jazzaldia (San Sebastián), Bimhuis (Amsterdam), and the Madrid International Jazz Festival.

Alongside her own projects, her versatility has led her to collaborate with a wide range of artists and ensembles, including Adrian Younge & His Orchestra, Libérica, OMAC, and Orquestra Sònica. Across all contexts, Careta sustains a voice that is free, searching, and constantly evolving.
