Daybreak – Sven Wunder

Daybreak is the fifth studio album by Sven Wunder, released in September 2025, through Piano Piano Records.

Conceived as a maritime journey from the first hours of dawn to the return of night, the album unfolds across thirteen instrumental compositions in which jazz, orchestral music, and cinematic language form a continuous narrative.

Its arrangements incorporate strings, flutes, clarinet, bassoon, brass, vibraphone, marimba, guitars, keyboards, bass, drums, and percussion. Contributors include Per “Texas” Johansson, Daniel Ögren, Reine Fiske, Mattias Ståhl, Anders Scherp, Christopher Cantillo, Malcolm Catto, and Gustav Nahlin, alongside strings conducted by Erik Arvinder.

Across pieces such as “Setting Off”, “Daybreak”, “Scenic Byway”, “Deep Sea”, and “Liquid Mountains”, Wunder uses shifts in dynamics, instrumentation, and texture to represent the changing light, temperature, and movement that shape the album’s concept.
