Girls in Airports – Danish jazz ensemble

Girls in Airports is one of the most singular projects on the international Danish scene. Their musical language is built upon curiosity and cultural openness, merging jazz with ambient, folklore, and indie without explicit hierarchies.

Led by the compositional vision of Martin Stender, the group distinguishes itself through the use of vintage keyboards and a woodwind instrumentation that prioritizes texture over pure technique. With over a decade of history and a presence on labels such as Edition Records, they have developed a unique capacity for deep listening and the creation of trance-like states in their live performances. Their practice is based on the ensemble as a living system, where trust and constant exploration allow for a sonic evolution that embraces both the serene and the ecstatic.
