Real Life – Kinga Glyk
Real Life marks a new chapter in the artistic evolution of bassist and composer Kinga Glyk. The album proposes a vision of contemporary jazz where the bass functions as both rhythmic foundation and melodic storyteller.
Recorded at Estudi Vint in Catalonia under the production of Michael League and engineered by Grammy-winning engineer Nic Hard, the album brings together a group of exceptional musicians, including Casey Benjamin and Robert Searight.
Musically, the record navigates between modern funk, European jazz, and contemporary fusion. Tracks such as Fast Life highlight Glyk’s ability to build dynamic grooves where bass and keyboards interact in complex yet fluid textures. Who Cares shifts the balance between rhythm and melody, while The Friend You Call reveals a more introspective side, blending folk influences with lyrical phrasing.
More than a showcase of instrumental skill, Real Life stands as a collection of expressive compositions where groove, melody, and improvisation form a cohesive musical narrative.
