Slowly Rolling Camera – cinematic jazz ensemble

Slowly Rolling Camera is a musical project formed in Cardiff, Wales, in 2013 by composer and keyboardist Dave Stapleton, producer and sound engineer Deri Roberts, and percussionist Elliot Bennett. Their artistic proposal lies at the intersection of contemporary jazz, avant-garde electronic music, and trip-hop. The group's identity is defined by the construction of dense, cinematic atmospheres, employing both traditional acoustic instrumentation and real-time electronic synthesis and manipulation.

Throughout their discography, the band has transitioned from singer-songwriter structures to dense frameworks of collective improvisation, collaborating with a rotating roster of world-class instrumentalists from the international jazz scene.

Through wide-reaching dynamic projects like Juniper, the trio explores the dissolution of genre boundaries, cementing a sonic language focused on groove development, timbral design, and visual narratives applied to sound. Widely recognized for their album Silver Shadow, they create immersive compositions that break the fourth wall, turning every track into a distinct emotional scene.
