Atlantis Jazz Ensemble – interaction and spirituality in contemporary jazz
Atlantis Jazz Ensemble is a collective that develops its practice at the intersection of spiritual jazz, modal tradition, and contemporary improvisation. Its approach centers on group interaction as a structural engine, integrating influences ranging from African American currents to transatlantic dialogues across Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
The ensemble's core lineup is built around a classic modern jazz instrumentation, expanded through the use of additional percussion and electric textures, most notably through the Fender Rhodes piano.
In projects like Mystic Suite, the group works with open structures where composition and improvisation coexist in balance, generating a continuous flow that prioritizes sonic density, dynamics, and the connection among the performers.
