Caipi – Kurt Rosenwinkel

Caipi is an album by Kurt Rosenwinkel, released in 2017 as the first record on his Heartcore Records label. Developed over approximately a decade, the project expands his musical language toward Brazilian music, song, rock, and electronic production.

Rosenwinkel recorded acoustic and electric guitars, bass, piano, drums, percussion, synthesizers, Casio, and vocals. The album also features Pedro Martins, Mark Turner, Amanda Brecker, Eric Clapton, Frederika Krier, Chris Komer, Alex Kozmidi, Andi Haberl, Antonio Loureiro, Zola Mennenöh, and Kyra Garéy.

Its eleven compositions bring together melody, improvisation, and studio production in a work where the guitar is no longer the sole center of Rosenwinkel’s musical language.
