Cécile McLorin Salvant – Singer and Composer

Cécile McLorin Salvant is an American singer, composer, and visual artist whose work explores the narrative possibilities of song through jazz, blues, folk, musical theater, and other vocal traditions.

Her work combines original compositions with reinterpretations of standards, popular songs, and historical repertoire, using phrasing, timbre, and theatricality as tools to reconsider the meaning of the texts she performs.

A multiple Grammy Award winner and a 2020 MacArthur Fellow, Salvant has developed a discography that includes For One to Love, Dreams and Daggers, The Window, Ghost Song, and Mélusine.
