Christian Sands is an American pianist and composer whose career places him as one of the most complete and defining figures in contemporary jazz, renowned for his balance between mastering tradition and pursuing new aesthetic horizons.

Trained under the mentorship of Billy Taylor and a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Sands developed a decisive international profile as a key member of bassist Christian McBride’s ensembles, before solidifying his solo career with Mack Avenue Records.

His pianistic style assimilates the influences of titans like Oscar Peterson and Erroll Garner, projecting them onto the harmonic and rhythmic freedoms of Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Brad Mehldau, with an approach that stands out for its deep sensitivity and technical precision.
