Con Alma – Magos Herrera & Paola Prestini
Con Alma is a collaborative work by singer Magos Herrera and composer Paola Prestini, released under the National Sawdust Tracks label. Conceived during the 2020 global crisis, the album explores human resilience and the possibility of creating community despite physical isolation.
The record stands out for its ambitious remote production, integrating over 30 international artists. The instrumentation ranges from cello and clarinet to symphony orchestras and youth choirs, achieving a sound that blurs the boundaries between contemporary jazz, classical music, and Latin American song.
The repertoire includes original compositions that function as a melancholic "quasi-cantata," alongside reinterpretations of classic pieces. The project has transcended the auditory format to become a documentary directed by Marta Ferrerand Pedro González Rubio, establishing itself as a historical document on the cohesive power of art in times of crisis.
