Gospel Music – Joel Ross

Gospel Music is the fifth album as a leader by Joel Ross, a work that delves into the relationship between contemporary jazz, gospel tradition, and spiritual thought within African-American music.

The album is articulated from a conception where composition and improvisation do not function as opposites but as integrated elements within the same structure. The pieces develop through open forms that allow for constant interaction between the musicians.
