Joey Alexander – Pianist and Composer

Joey Alexander is an Indonesian-born pianist, composer, and bandleader based in New York City, internationally recognized for his prodigious technique, harmonic sensibility, and rapid evolution as one of the firmest voices in modern jazz.

After leaping the global stage with acclaimed record releases since his early adolescence, his career has been distinguished by the exploration of genre standards and, more recently, by the consolidation of a distinctive compositional style that dialogues with the heritage of giants like Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans, and John Coltrane.

Through his collaborations with top-tier figures such as Larry Grenadier, Kendrick Scott, Chris Potter, and Gilad Hekselman, Alexander has learned to build a language in which swing, groove, and structural clarity coexist with the freedom of contemporary improvisation.
