Kurt Rosenwinkel – Guitarist, Composer and Multi-Instrumentalist

Kurt Rosenwinkel is an American guitarist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work has developed a distinctive language across improvisation, composition, and harmonic exploration.

Since emerging on the New York jazz scene in the early 1990s, he has built a discography that includes The Enemies of Energy, The Next Step, Heartcore, Star of Jupiter, and Caipi, alongside numerous collaborations.

His work extends beyond the guitar into piano, voice, production, and other instruments. In 2016, he founded Heartcore Records in Berlin as a label conceived to release music without being defined by genre, style, or origin.

Albums such as Caipi reveal that breadth: composition, improvisation, Brazilian music, electronics, and song coexist within a single musical identity.
