For No One Else – Alex Cosmo Blake
In his debut project, composer and guitarist Alex Cosmo Blake proposes a journey of self-discovery that seeks not answers, but liberation. It is music that moves between introspection and catharsis, as if each piece were an attempt to understand—or simply inhabit—the process itself.
For No One Else sits in a hybrid territory where contemporary jazz, R&B, and electronics coexist naturally. There are echoes of soundscapes akin to Burial, a melodic sensitivity reminiscent of the Studio Ghibli universe, and an emotional warmth inherited from modern soul.
But beyond its influences, For No One Else functions as a personal space open to the listener. A place where the intimate becomes a shared refuge. The album features a group of collaborators who expand its sonic dimension:
- Leif Kaner-Lidstrom – piano
- Jonathan Moko – electric bass
- Jerome Johnson – drums
- Poppy Daniels – trumpet
- Harry Trevellion – flute
- Kershia Bailey – backing vocals
This isn't a record to be fully understood. It is a record for getting lost—and perhaps, finding oneself.
