In The Key Of K is the debut release from Kaisa's Machine, a project led by Finnish bassist and composer Kaisa Mäensivu that serves as an aesthetic bridge between Nordic restraint and the urgency of the New York scene. After honing her craft at the Manhattan School of Music, Mäensivu shapes a quartet that delivers a handful of original pieces where classic post-bop heritage breathes through a contemporary lens.
