The Q Sessions – Christian McBride

The Q Sessions is a studio EP by bassist and composer Christian McBride, originally produced as an exclusive release for Qobuz before becoming available across digital platforms.

Recorded at New York City's Power Station, the project brings together Mike Stern on guitar, Marcus Strickland on saxophone, and Eric Harland on drums, forming a quartet that explores an open blues, the jazz standard "On Green Dolphin Street," and the original composition "Brouhaha."

Captured entirely in high-resolution audio (24-bit/192kHz), the EP emphasizes spontaneous interaction while preserving the natural dynamics and sonic detail of each performance.

More than an exercise in individual virtuosity, The Q Sessions documents a contemporary jazz session in which collective improvisation, swing, and constant musical communication become the project's defining qualities.
